FAQs

Each topper is made entirely from scratch specifically for you.
Because of the customization involved — color blending, hand-tying, lace work, and any
specialty requests — the typical timeframe is 4–8 weeks from when we receive your
measurements, hair sample, and mold (if you choose to send one).
If you need your topper sooner, contact us and we’ll let you know if an expedited timeline is
possible.

You don’t have to — but it is strongly recommended.
Your hair has natural tones, warmth, coolness, and dimension that photos cannot capture
accurately.
Sending a small sample allows us to:
● match your color strand-by-strand
● blend highlights and lowlights naturally
● create a seamless transition between your bio hair and the topper
● avoid undertones that clash in natural sunlight
Most clients who send hair samples achieve the most realistic match possible.

A small amount is all we need — about the thickness of a Q-tip.
You can cut a small piece from underneath your hair, or simply send hair from your brush if that
is easier.
If your hair has multiple tones (lighter ends, darker roots), sending 2–3 small sections helps us
blend the topper more accurately.

A mold is optional, but extremely helpful.
If you choose to send one, we can create a topper that follows the exact curvature of your
scalp — which means:
● better security
● no lifting at the edges
● no pressure points
● more accurate coverage
● a truly custom fit
If you wear your topper at the front hairline, tracing your hairline onto the taped Saran Wrap
mold allows us to recreate your natural shape, irregularities, and baby hair pattern.

It’s very simple and only takes a few minutes.
You’ll need:
● Saran Wrap
● clear masking tape
● a permanent marker
● a friend to assist
Wrap the top of your head several times with Saran Wrap to build a thick layer.
Then cover the entire wrapped area generously with clear masking tape.
If you’re wearing the topper at your hairline, trace your natural hairline on the taped surface with
a marker.
Small bumps are fine — they help us understand your head shape.
Remove the mold gently and mail it to us along with your hair sample.

We use high-quality human hair that is soft, durable, and blends beautifully with your natural
hair.
We custom-select hair that matches your sample in texture, thickness, and undertone.
For longer lengths or fuller densities, supplemental hair may be added to ensure your topper
has the volume and coverage you want while still matching your exact color.

Yes, absolutely.
If you’d like your topper made from your own hair:
● we can incorporate it fully if there is enough length
● if there isn’t enough for the full piece, we can blend it with supplemental hair
● your natural hair creates the most meaningful color match and emotional connection to
your piece
Many clients love knowing a part of their own natural hair is in the topper.

Maintenance depends on how often you wear your topper, but most clients follow these
guidelines:
● wash every 1–2 weeks
● use sulfate-free, gentle shampoo
● apply conditioner only from mid-shaft downward
● avoid heavy oils near the base
● heat style on low or medium
● store on a mannequin head when not in use
● brush gently starting from the ends upward
Lace toppers require the most delicate care, while skin-top options are more durable.

No.
Once a topper is constructed, it cannot be expanded.
Because of this, we always recommend choosing a size that fully covers your current thinning
area and accounts for any anticipated future thinning.
If you expect your thinning to progress, we suggest sizing up slightly for long-term comfort and
blendability.

Since every topper is handcrafted specifically to your measurements, colors, and chosen
customizations, all sales are final.
We do everything we can to guide you through sizing, color matching, and construction choices
so you are confident before ordering.
If you have concerns after receiving your topper, contact us — we are always here to help
adjust, troubleshoot, and guide.

Density affects both the look and the price of your topper.
● Light density is ideal for curly hair, wavy hair, and naturally thin hair. It creates the most
natural blend and avoids puffiness.
● Full density is great for clients who want more volume and height at the crown.
We can help you select the right density during consultation or based on photos you send.

All of our toppers are multidirectional, meaning the hair can be moved around.
However, the piece is sewn to your chosen part so it naturally falls into place and is easiest for
you to style.
You can choose left, deep left, right, deep right, or center.

Yes. You can choose between pressure-sensitive clips, an invisible adjustable band, or both.
Clips offer a secure hold that snaps directly into your hair, while the invisible band slides through
your hair and sits under the nape for clip-free wear. The invisible string does require more
blending of your bio hair. You may choose both options to feel extra secure.

This depends on your needs:
● folded lace = more durable, reinforced edge
● raw lace = softest, most realistic hairline when blending into your bio hair
If you’re unsure, we can recommend the right option based on how you plan to wear your
topper.

Yes.
We can extend the shape, adjust the base, or customize the coverage area so it fits your
pattern exactly.
Some clients request extra-long coverage, narrower part-density toppers, or backward-sewn
ventilation to lift the crown. All of these options are possible.
